My ASUS P3B-F Motherboard now managed to surprise with an error none of my
friends/connections ever heard of. While my comp is booting, after the bios
detects my two IDE HD's (both Seagate). It gives a so called "smart" error
with the second one (d:). "HD is likely to crash, (failure imminent or
something) back-up your data and replace the hardware, press F1 to continue"
Now, as far as i can check, theres nothing wrong with my disk. Does anybody
know what to do? It's very annoying and i wonder if my HD maybe is
crashing......

Thanks in Advance,
Dennis

make sure the cables are seated properly, and the jumpers ar correct.. also
chch the bios to be sure its detecting all the drives exactly as they are..
then run a "Thorough" scandisk and defrag it.. if all else fails, replace
it

S.M.A.R.T is a "program" that detects physical drive problems by checking
various characteristics of each drive and reporting anomalies so that you
can back up BEFORE the drive fails mechanically etc.
Take notice of what it is telling you.
or
Turn off S.M.A.R.T in the bios at your own risk.
