What: Follow Me Home and Lakota Harden: An Exploration of Race and Identity When: Tuesday Nov. 8th at 7:30pm Where: Gamble Auditorium, Mount Holyoke College How much? FREE!!! Lakota Harden is an American Indian speaker and activist who recently received the Women of Color Resource Centers Sisters of Fire Award. Aside from facilitating post-screening discussions of Follow Me Home, Harden speaks regularly about unlearning racism, sexism, and other social oppressions. Follow Me Home tells a poetic story about four graffiti mural artists (an African American, an American Indian, and two Chicanos) traveling from San Francisco to Washington, D.C. on a politically motivated quest to cover the White House with their art. The daughter of seven generations of Lakota leaders, Harden also works with various community service organizations regarding issues of American Indian portrayal and American Indian womens health and empowerment, especially in terms of birthing and environmental issues. Dont miss this profound, defiant, humorous, and important confrontation of American racial problems and their possible solutions. www.mtholyoke.edu/go/students Sponsored by the Dean of Students Office, Coordinator of Multi-Cultural Affairs & Native Spirit
