Okay, I was just checking to see if you're one of those folks who thinks that limiting law-abiding citizens' freedoms because of the actions of a small group of criminals is okay. : >Brian "Get out of here with that prior restraint shit" Trosko : What? Do you work for a company that makes these descramblers? Nope. I work for a company that sells satellite systems. : You've got : to be kidding if you don't admit that most people who use these things don't : bother to tell their cable company that they are doing so... I don't give a flying fuck what 'most people' do with those things. There's a totally legitimate market for them, and any action that limits the freedoms of those who abide by the law solely in order to curtail the actions of a far smaller segment of the population is anathema to the ideals of a free society. In short, if someone's using a cable box to pirate a signal, and you catch their ass, take their money or throw them into jail. But if they're not using it for that, or don't plan to use them for that, leave them the fuck alone. You know, all that 'innocent until proven guilty' stuff that our legal system is based on is there for a reason. I really have no idea where this discussion started, but I'll try to trim followups from groups that are utterly irrelevant. Brian "I know it's a pain in the ass sometimes, but..."
