And I am still talking about USANA There are a ton of ads on the newsgroups all claiming to make you a millionaire. That's known as hype, and actually is a black eye for anyone seriously involved in a legitimate multi-level marketing business. That kind of stuff is just garbage...... The fact is, there are some good opportunities, and some great opportunities, but the level of success is more likely to depend on YOUR desire IF you have the right company at the right time............ For Instance, I have a goal to simply make a living so that I dont have to depend on social security. The company I picked is USANA, and here is why...... ELECTING THE RIGHT COMPANY If you were going to purchase a franchise or buy a business, what would you do? Investigate the business carefully, wouldn't you? You'd look at,financials, check the backgrounds of the owners, do a Dun and Bradstreet check, call the Better Business Bureau to see if there had been any complaints, and talk with people who had done business with the company. You would do your due diligence before you plunked down your hard earned cash. That's exactly what you should do when selecting a network marketing company. At minimum, you want the company to display the following characteristics: 1. Involved in network marketing for over 2 years. 2. A management team that has the right balance of network marketing and technical experience. 3. Sells products that are consumable and of a higher value than those currently available in retail stores or through mail order. 4. Financially sound, debt free, and preferably publicly traded with a good history of growth. 5. Less than $50 million in annual wholesale revenues and under 50,000 distributors. 6. Excellent company supported training and marketing materials. 7. Use of current technology, such as fax-on-demand, audiotext, voice mail, internet, etc. 8. All distributors purchase products directly from the company at the same price and receive bonus checks based on volume directly from the company. 9. No large buy in (over $1000), no qualification period, no monthly group volume requirements, no breakaway groups, no level limitations, and bonuses paid weekly. 10. International growth planned. If a company meets all of these requirements, you've got yourself a realwinner, jump on board and ride it all the way to the bank. If the company meets 80% or better, then they are worthy of further investigation. Choosing the right company can be critical to your success. Use the qualifications above and then take a look at timing. Network marketing companies go through several phases of growth. The best stage is Momentum or popular growth. This is the stage when the company name becomes more of a household word. The best time to get in is about a year before Momentum. How will you know? Look at the growth pattern. Network marketing companies generally start into momentum somewhere between the 3rd and 5th year at around $4 to 5 million a month. So, you want to join when the company is doing about $3 million a month. This gives you time to build a network and then enjoy the exponential growth of momentum. Now let's compare USANA to the criteria above: 1.Involved in network marketing for over 2 years. USANA was founded in September of 1992. 2.A management team that has the right balance of network marketing and technical experience. Founder is Dr. Myron Wentz, a world famous micro-biologist. VP of Marketing is Dallin Larsen, an experienced business owner (franchising) and network marketer (Nu Skin), are examples. 3.Sells products that are consumable and of a higher value than those currently available in retail stores or through mail order. USANA markets a high end line of nutritional supplements and skin care products, the two highest demand markets for the baby boomers. 4.Financially sound, debt free, and preferably publicly traded with a good history of growth.USANA is publicly traded (NASDAQ: USNA on the pink sheet), debt free, heavily backed. 5.Less than $50 million in annual wholesale revenues and under 50,000 distributors. USANA hit $25 million in 1995 and currently has about 25,000 distributors. 6.Excellent company supported training and marketing materials. Outstanding distributor kit; video and audio training programs; live seminars by Denis Waitley, Robert Allen, and other top distributors; monthly video magazine narrated by Denis Waitley; monthly teleconference; MBA Training System; and local training. 7.Use of current technology, such as fax-on-demand, audiotext, voice mail, internet, etc. Web site, weekly e-mail newsletter, teleconferencing, multi-media presentation computer disk, fax-on-demand, voice mail, touchtalk ordering and volume, and downline management software. 8.All distributors purchase products directly from the company at the same price and receive bonus checks based on volume directly from the company. USANA distributors of all levels purchase directly from the company at the same wholesale price. 9.No large buy in (over $1000), no qualification period, no monthly group volume requirements, no breakaway groups, no level limitations, and bonuses paid weekly. The most a person can invest to get started as a distributor with USANA is about $500, of which $455 of that is product. This does not include other optional training and marketing materials. 10.International growth planned. USANA operates in the U.S. and Canada. When the company hits $50 million it will launch into several other countries - tentatively Australia, New Zealand, and Taiwan. Email me for more info--- Dennis
