Pur-phy is a PDP-11/44 operated by the Physics department of
Purdue University at West Lafayette, Indiana.

Our system consists of the 11/44 with:
	1.3Mb	Main memory
	1	RM02
	1	CDC 9766 w/ SI controller
	1	TS11
	2	Abel DMAX's
	1	Printronix P300

We run UNIX V7M1 from the UNIX support group at DEC. Our system
supports research by Physics department faculty and graduate students.
We are especially interested in mathematical typesetting (n/troff, TEX)
and mathematical software.

Currently, our only uucp contact is pur-ee. We have three Vadic 3451
triple modems if other sites are interested in polling us and hope
to soon purchase an acu.
