Job Description:

Data warehouse technical consultants will perform analysis upon the clients
current business and technical process and decision support requirements.
You will work closely with clients to determine their current and future
needs. Once critical information has been identified, a data warehouse is
created for more efficient ad hoc analysis and decision support. The data
warehouse technical consultant will be expected to work with Oracle as the
database. This role uses tools to assist in the porting and creation of the
warehouse, to create reports, as well as to directly manipulate the
database.



The right candidate will have experience as a data warehouse technical
specialist. Your experience and responsibilities include:

�               Consult with customers & partners providing in depth
technical product knowledge and guidance during Retek RDW implementation
cycle.

�               Identify & respond to customer questions, issues and service
opportunities, making reasoned decisions after assessing customer situation.

�               Work with DBA's and Analyst's to modify the data model in
Microstrategy for new hierarchy's/attributes needed for reporting.

�               Design and create reports. Write custom reports for RDW
using both existing metrics and defined metrics.

�                Responsible for implementing Retek RDW and Microstrategy
6x. Data Warehouse. Implement components for Microstrategy (Agent,
Architect, Iserver, Web Server and Scheduler).

�                Integration testing.

�                Experience working with Microstrategy components.

�                Experience writing custom reports using RDW.

�                Experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, Pro *C, Performance and
tuning.

�               Business processes and rapid implementation methodologies.

�               Detailed knowledge of multi-dimensional database structures.

�               Intimate knowledge of snowflake and star-schema
architectures.

�                Experience working with Red Brick, Information Advantage,
NCR Teradata, Prism would be considered an asset.

�                Knowledge of Business Objects, Cognos Powerplay/Impromptu,
Brio or Essbase would also be considered an asset.

�               Solid foundation of retail business knowledge a definite
asset.



Qualifications:

�               Must have at least 1 years experience with Retek RDW

�               Previous retail experience preferred

�                Experience as a Technical Data Warehouse Analyst, is
required

�               Business travel is required.

�               Specific skill requirements include the following:

                o                University degree in Computer Science, math
or engineering with a minimum of six years' implementation experience
managing technology projects in a consulting environment.

                o                Extensive industry knowledge of project
management practices, systems delivery methodologies, tools, techniques and
trends.

                o                Demonstrate excellent customer service
ethic, enjoy working in a dynamic team environment and maintain strong
working relationships with peers within the company.
