System Software Architect



Reporting to the Manager, Software Development, you will be required to
design, document and implement complex software architectures in a team
environment, as well as, take the software architecture and apply it to a
system so that customer expectations are satisfied. You will be responsible
for montioring and correcting problems with the existing software
architecture and provide feedback into current development, as well as,
improve Set Top box software architecture in terms of, quality, testability
and customization for customers. You will also be required to become an
expert in our client's System on a chip HDTV ASIC, governing ISR firmware
and driver code, Operating systems and development platforms. You will use
this knowledge to develop extensions to the platform code base on customer
platforms and requirements and identify deficiencies in drivers, feature
implementation, propose solutions and drive resolutions.



As the successful candidate you bring your Bachelors degree, in Engineering,
and a minimum of 6 (six) years experience in low level software development
in a real-time multi-tasking embedded environment. You have in depth
knowledge of VxWorks, pSOS, Windows CE, Linux and VRTX operating systems in
an embedded environment. You possess extensive experience in C programming
and you have an understanding of ISR development requirements in real time
systems. Your knowledge of MPEG, MPEG2, video standards, audio standards,
DTV and the set top environment is required.
