***Senior Product Design Verification Engineer***



PURPOSE OF POSITION:

As a senior member of the Test & Acceptance Team you will be responsible for
the coordination of one or more equipment qualification programmes to be
developed for subcontracted radio equipment. This will entail working with
the subcontractor to ensure compliance of their design verification
programme with overall System design verification objectives. Primary tasks
will include review and approval of subcontractor design verification test
specifications and subsequent representation of these to customer; direct
liaison with the customer on test programme performance and issue tracking;
and development of equipment production sample testing programmes.



Extensive travel may be required. Applications for this position will
require that candidates are able to obtain a NATO SECRET Security Clearance.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties of the Product Design Verification Engineer will include:

? Interaction with the customer & subcontractor to negotiate and agree on
test methods;

? Interaction with System and Product engineering staff to ensure consistent
interpretation of requirements between design and test;

? Maintenance of Product Design Verification Matrices in DOORS;

? Liaison with the designated System Design Verification Engineer to ensure
consistency of approach in critical areas;

? Development and review of test plans, descriptions, procedures and
reports;

? Review of technical performance requirements to determine appropriate and
cost-effective test methods;

? Review of subcontractor qualification plans and evaluation of formal
qualification procedures for adequacy and compliance to subcontract;

? Ensuring that requirements and Test Case traceability is maintained;

? Coordination of the preparation of formal test reports, problem reporting,
and corrective action;

? Ensuring that the subcontractor qualification programme schedule remains
consistent with the overall schedule; and

? Provision of periodic status reports.



QUALIFICATIONS:

? Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences or related
technical/engineering field.



EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:

? Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.

? Familiarity with project management/scheduling tools.

? Eight years experience including three to six years in System Engineering
with Subsystem or Product Test experience.

? Knowledge, development and use of test tools.

? Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.

? Familiarity with DOORS, or similar requirements management databases.

? Knowledge of software engineering practices.



DESIRABLE:

? Familiarity with the principles of tactical communications systems.

? Familiarity with Army operations.

? Experience on, or knowledge of Iris System Design would be an asset.
