Dear MicroServe and Internet Ohio Customers,
Today, Thursday at 9:30am, MicroServe has switched to a new
news(USENET) server. This new server receives and stores many more USENET
articles at a higher rate and with more completeness. If we should
experience any problems with the new server, we will switch back to the
original news server. This switch will NOT affect commercial customers
receiving full newsfeeds from MicroServe; this is a replacement of MIS's
newsreader, not newsfeeding servers. For experienced USENET customers,
the original server will be operating at news3:122 (port 122) for several
weeks. We discourage the use of the original server since it is temporary
and will not continued to be monitored or maintained.

The new server has been in testing for a small group of
individuals for several weeks, we believe we have worked all the bugs out
(This means painless surfing for you). If you should have a problem with
the news-server, and you are familiar with USENET, please e-mail
noc@admin.microserve.net. Engineers will be monitoring this mailbox for
emergency problems (with the news-server). Please do NOT mail
noc@admin.microserve.net with non-news server related problems. General
problems should be mailed to helpdesk@admin.microserve.net or
helpdesk@ohio.net.

MicroServe's news service is available and competitivly priced for
other ISP's and corporations that wish not to run their own NNRP server.
Contact MicroServe's news-admin, news@admin.microserve.net for more
information (or call our sales office @ 800-380-4638).

MicroServe asks that customers keep a close watch on
http://www.microserve.net/info for upcoming service outages, new service
announcements and general changes. We are in the process of redesigning
the info page. The new page will contain a much greater range of
information including new engineering events (new numbers, 56k info...),
new product and new sales information.

MicroServe is a full-service NSP servicing Dialup, 56k, ISDN, T1,
T3, VPN and turn-key solutions for residential and commercial use. For
more information contact MIS @ 800-380-4638.

Thank you,
   Daniel Ellis
