Modding the Memory Man-again!

Even though I'm really happy with my memory man, now that I modded it, I
find that there is a level matching problem. Basically the unit will
break up if I try to raise the level so that bypass and FX are at the same
level.

I was thinking of a very simple gain stage that could get it's power from
the supply in the box. Something like a TL071 for example. Is there any
reason not to do this?

If worse comes to worse I could upgrade the transformer, maybe even to a
torroid transformer to reduce induced hum. How can I find out if the
existing transformer has enough power to handle it?

Cheers,
