Synopsis: Core router failure

Dear Users,
Penteledata experienced a failure of a core Philly router. This
router failure caused severe bandwidth constraints and a major SMDS
failure. PTD engineering has been in the process of adding new core
routers to remove the Single Point of Failure which occured during this
failure; unfortunately this router failure occured before these other core
routers were on-line. This type of failure will be avoided in the near
future.
We apologize for the inconvience.
