Try reading a few books:
The C Programming Language, Kernighan & Ritchie
The C++ Programming Language, Stroustrup
C++ How to Program, Deitel
Programming Win 95, Petzold
Programming Win 95 with MFC, Prosise
Advanced Win95 Programming, forget author's name

These should get you started and give you a firm footing to read and learn
more about C++.

You can do this or make VB programs.
