Hi

Does anyone know where I can get a utility to read the BIOS serial
number from a Dell Optiplex machine.

What I want is a DOS utility that when you type the program name it
simply returns with the 5 digit service tag which could then be piped
to a text file.

i.e.
  READBIOS > bios.txt

Alternativly, I could pass the parameters ofthe address and offset of
the service tag to allow for different bios's.

i.e.
  READBIOS address,offset > bios.txt

Are either of these possible? and does anyone know the address and
offset of the service tag in the Dell Optiplex (BIOS ver A18.

Is there a way of getting a hex dump or something like that of the
BIOS data so I can search for the info I require and therefore get the
address and offset?

Please reply by email as well as posting here.
Thanks.
