Hi.

You could try setting up the NT 4.0 DNS on a local server, configuring it as
a zone primary, containing all your intranet zone records, but only allow
access from specified secondaries, and dont specify any.  This will
(hopefully - I haven't tested it) stop anyone else from replicating your DNS
entries.  You can then set your DNS server's parent NS to be your ISP's DNS,
and your local machine will cache any queries made to the parent.

It's a while since I've done this, so I apologise if some of the details are
wrong.  Generally it works OK though.
