People,

After upgrading to WIN98 from 95 osr2

My drive A doesnt work anymore !!!!

when i click on it it starts to search for the contents and then the light
stays on, thats it nothing happens anymore

I didnt have these problems in W95 and dont have them in real dos !!!, whats
wrong ??????

Check these:
    1. disable av in BIOS
    2. disable av autoscan of drive on bootup
    3. if you have NU 3.0, also disable the Lite av autoscan on bootup
and/or System Doctor at startup.

I had the same over here when I ran RC0.
The way I solved it on my system:
Go to Device Manager (under system properties) and delete the driver for the
flopdrive. Windows will at first complain that the drive will be used in
"real-mode" but it will work perfectly fine with no side-effects whatsoever.
It appears to be the hsflop.pdr floppy disk driver causing trouble on some
machines (I got bsod's whenever accessing the drive ;)
This happened whether it was a clean win98 install or an upgrade, though I'd
recommend doing a clean install.

De floopydrive bij de systeem propertie uitschakelen in hardware, computer
opnieuw opstarten, dan naar new hardware gaan en dan kies je als floppy
controller de standaard floppy controller van compaq, computer opnieuw
opstarten en het probleem is opgelost.
