Memory Leaking

Hi,

I installed ME and I'm running regular software, but after a few hours, I
notice that my system resources have dropped to about 20%... And I have an
Athlon800Mhz with 128MB installed. When I close all my apps, it still
doesn't go higher than about 40%-60%. Currently I have less than 30% memory
left What could be the problem??

I use programs like MS Outlook 2000, ICQ, CorelDraw, Visual Basic, Photoshop
(not at the same time though)... I also leave on my computer for 14-16 hours
straight, I heard from other WinME users that they also got low on resources
after leaving on his system for a day...

I use exactly the same programs+version as I did on my old P200Mhz-48Mb
installed with W98. I used to have way more free resources under Win98

Any suggestions?

First tip : Don't use too much stay resident programs , like huge
virusscanners or other memory leaking stuff.

Second tips : Try to set in your system controll to use DMA (or set a
DMA buffer) and make a fixed Swap file .
Use options like Read Ahead and set a fixed cachefile for your
harddisk in system.ini

I use this program called memturbo , this program defrags your memory
and it's really usefull.
OS like ME and 98 really mess up and fragment your memorystructure .

Thank you very much,

I was very surprised that Windows didn't switch on things like DMA
automatically... It did improve system performance.
