i replaced the 'VMWAUDIO.VXD' found in the wndows/system folder with the
same file on the recovery cd and mine works good.  for some reason the
driver on the upgrade won't work with win 98.  if you need the password for
the recovery cd its magic.  the file also can be found on the diag. and
utility cd.
