Hi all!

I'm looking for a converter of HTML to GIF, basically so that I have a graphical
picture of the HTML file I have. Can anyone advice me something of that sort?

You can try a simple screen capture. Windows95 users (and possibly more)
can hit the Print Screen key which will copy the current screen to the
clipboard, you can then paste it into your favorite graphics app.

There are numerous screen capture utilities. At least one of which (I
think) has the ability to "capture" what is below the screen. That would
be handy for larger documents. As an alternative, switching your monitor
to the highest resolution possible before making an ordinary capture
would allow you to grab a slightly longer document.

There is also at least one utility that has the express purpose of
making an image out of a document, no matter how long it is. You'll have
to hunt around for it.

Holding Alt when you hit the Print Screen will capture just the active
window. If your browser lets you get rid of toolbars, etc. it may make
editing easier.

I've got the feeling that both functions can be carried out by one and the
same handy piece of software called SnagIt, of which a 45-day (or
thereabouts) shareware version can be downloaded from www.techsmith.com
I've got SnagIt, but I've never tried this specific feature, but overall it
is a very good programme that can, amongst other things, even capture
movies, animated gifs etc. and that doesn't cost the earth.

You could think of installing SuperPrint (look for it at the PCPlus site which can
be reached from http://www.futurenet.co.uk ; they give it away for free) this lets
you print(!) anything windows can print as a.o. a GIF file.
You could also look for a utility by Hewlett Packard (http://www.hp.com) of which I
have forgotten the name, but that enables you to select a WebPage (and lay-out if I
remember well) to print in a good-looking way. This would make a very nice
combination with SuperPrint and would give you maximum control over the resulting
GIF.

If you chose ALT+ PRINT SCRN, the screen image is saved to the clipboard.
You can then paste this as a new image in your paint program and save it as
a jpg
