There are two possibilities.  One is that for some reason our outbound
News is not making it through.  This is a bit surprising, because
outbound News traverses the same paths as inbound News, and we seem to
be getting a high rate of inbounc News.  I will however investigate
this.

The second possibility is more scary.  More and more Usenet sites are
doing automatic spam killing by inspecting the nntp-posting-host header,
and killing postings if they see a high rate of postings from the same
host.  Each PPP user has his own nnt-posting-host value.  But if you
post from the UNIX shell, all postings show up with the
nntp-posting-host being the same UNIX host as everybody else.  If many
users post from the UNIX shell at around the same time, aggressive spam
detectors will see a high rate of postings from the same host and kill
them as spam.

If the second possibility is the problem, a quick solution is to post
from your PPP login, and post at a slow rate, e.g., one every 5 minutes.
Please try this and see if it makes a difference.
