Sure, but it was also a time of visionaries throwing off the shackles of the past. > These "free-thinkers" have they not become so escounced in their > positions of influence that they are betraying their legacy of free speech > to hang onto their oh so precious positions. > That is my question to you, Mr. Professor. Oh, *I* get it. Sometimes I actually think that people won't shoot their mouths off until they have the facts. I'm 34 years old and hardly one of the 'flowerchildren' or 'freethinkers' of the '60s that you think I am. What a laugh. I'm not even a Marxist. (I know that's what you were referring to in these other messages). Nevertheless, I don't think my older collegues are doing any such thing. I have no problem with people arging that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to marry or that they should be carted off to islands in the Arctic. What I have a problem with is people trying to reserve the right to exercise their irrational hatred. *Say* whatever the hell you want. *Convince* other people to change the law. But don't strawmanise this position into some idiotic argument that I'm trying to silence you. Norm Gall -- " On an occasion of this kind it becomes more than a moral duty to speak one's mind.
