The Alberta Social Services department has a deal with funeral parlors for a
simple cremation for indigents for $550.

Why then iis the government wasting MILLIONS paying $1,700 for fancy funerals,
as a TV documentary exposed?

A simple cremation with the ashes in a box or urn is more than generous.
Anything more should be paid by family or friends, not taxpayers.
