I have a requirement for a small Sales Force Automation project. The 'vision' solution would use an Industry Standard Contact Manager (ACT!, Maximizer, GoldMine or MS-Outlook) and MS-Office Professional/WIN95. Initially this would be a Single-user, standalone product but it might grow to a small multi-user, network application. This is a PC-only application. No WWW interface or commercial activity is contemplated beyond normal e-mail functionality. Once developed and stable, it is unlikely the application will undergo much change or enhancement not related to MS-Office &/or OS Version/functionality. The critical components are the design of a Catalogue with Quote, Sales Order, Invoice Request and an Historical Archive ability linked to the Contact Manager Record. The Catalogue must accept import of a wide range of conventional file formats. It must also deal with a variety of Price Structures and Margins/Discounts on a line-by-line basis. If a File Import Mapping feature could be provided it would be possible to standardise the file import to a single file format like ASCII.txt, tab-delimited. This File Import feature is deemed highly desirable. A preliminary Requirements Document is available. Please respond directly via e-mail ONLY! THX! -- Gary Stier 403.413.1537 vox
