SR.HARDWARE DESIGNER                    LOCATION : TORONTO


Overall Function Summary

Responsible for all phases of development including research, design,
development, build, evaluation, testing, and documentation.

Specific Responsibilities

� Development and implementation of hardware products.  This includes
design, architecture, schematic preparation, documentation, and providing
detailed engineer specifications.  Testing and debugging of hardware
products and embedded software.
� Evaluation of alternative designs.
� Construct prototypes.
� Assist in board design.
� Post product release support.
� Parts ordering.
� Testing, simulation and debugging.
� Research, investigate and evaluate new tools, technologies and products.

Job Knowledge

� Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
� Absolutely must have experience in FPGA's and VHDL and simulation
� Amount of prior experience will vary depending on the level of designer.

Note:  There are varying levels of hardware designer.  The more senior
levels may have some supervisory responsibility over more junior hardware
designers, work on more complex projects, and rely less on specific detailed
instructions to complete their projects.
