As we all know, some software companies have come up with programs that make it so difficult for people to crack them that some of us may think that no one does crack them. This is not exactly true. There are many software pirates out there and so many do eventually manage to crack shareware and/or full programs and put them on the internet for other people to download. I am doing some private research on software piracy and am wandering what your views, as software developers, about software piracy are. I would be very interested in your thoughts and would be very grateful if you would answer my following questions. 1. What kind of software do you develop? 2. Do you make your living from writing software and selling it? 3. Do you worry about people copying and distributing your software illegally? 4. Do you ever try to make your software, piracy proof? If Yes, How? 5. Have you ever used pirated software yourself? If yes, do you mostly use illegal copies of software from big software companies? 6. Do people who you know use pirated software? If yes, how many people? 7. Will you be willing to use an anti software piracy solution created by another company? If yes, how much will you be willing to pay for it if the solution came in the form of a software package? 8. Do you feel that there is a great need for all countries to obey the international copyright laws to make software piracy more difficult for ordinary people. 9. Do you feel that some countries in the world are more responsible for software piracy than others? If so, which countries. 10. Would you agree that if software piracy is stopped, the spreading of computer viruses would be slowed down? If you do not want others to read your replies please send them to me via e-mail. I guarantee that non of the answers to the questions above sent to me via e-mail will be used against you in any way. The answers sent to me will be kept totally confidential. I will be very grateful if you send me your replies in the following form: ------------------------------------ 1. "Answer to question 1" 2. "Answer to question 2" 3. "Answer to question 3" etc. ------------------------------------ Extra Information: "Any additional information you would like to send" ------------------------------------ I thank you very much in advance.
