Central Alberta Company offers Free Business and Community Events Listings

RED DEER, AB. June 03, 1999  -  Affinity Systems Inc. today announces the
release of their Community Information pages.  This new section of their WWW
site allows any Alberta resident or business to post events and business
listings via the WWW, then maintain the entry themselves via WWW forms.  All
entries are searchable by Name, City, and Keyword and are also completely
browsable.


"We would like to offer this section of our WWW site to anyone and everyone
in Alberta with information they wish to share with the general public",
states James Bourne, President and founder of Affinity Systems Inc.,
"Alberta Businesses should greatly benefit from this service as they can
post new information about their organization as it becomes available, and
allow anyone, globally, to search the database to find their listings.  In
addition, residents will be able to be matched up with businesses in their
area which have the products or services that they need."


The Business Listings allow an Alberta business to place their phone, fax,
and toll free numbers on-line, as well as their address, and a description
of their products and services.  Keywords can also be entered which allows
businesses to target themselves for specific searches by visitors to the
site.


Under the Event Listings, residents and businesses may post any
non-commercial or commercial announcements they wish.  The poster must enter
a phone number, which may be selected for public or non-public viewing to
promote privacy.


After any submission is entered, they may then alter their submission using
a password and identification number provided, or remove their entry from
the database at their own convenience.  There is no operator intervention
required from the hosting service, but if problems arise a question can be
sent via E-mail to the Affinity Systems Inc. database team.


The service, which is run from a Linux server at a local Internet Service
Provider in Red Deer, AB, is completely free to all Alberta residents and
businesses.  Being a new service, there are very few businesses or events
presently listed, but with a sponsorship campaign underway, Affinity Systems
Inc. hopes to create awareness of the service through any media possible. 
"Sponsors which devote air time, or publication space to inform their
clients of the database, have advertisements posted on the pages of this
section of our WWW site denoting them as sponsors.  This promotes them as
well as their community involvement", offers Mr. Bourne.
