[BTW: I don't really think this belongs in the *.jobs areas.]

My problem is that my classes *are* filled with students who want
vocational training. I really wish the bottom half of them *could* get
what they want at a community college, and the portion that doesn't
make it past second year *do* get jobs writing COBOL, dBMS, novell, etc.
I still can't believe there are people that graduate from Carleton
with degrees in B.C.S.'s whose exposure to non-DOS machines includes
but 2 sparse weeks of Unix, and maybe some Ingres (under Unix). No
wonder I see all those adds for IBM mainframe programmers in Access.

Fortunately, I'm usually too busy failing the physics part of my
combined honours to let this get me too down.

Can you say ``five year plan''? I can :-)
