We are finding some size issues when OCRing scanned PDF files in Acrobat Capture versions 3.0.4 versus 3.0.5. With 3.0.5, we are experiencing much larger filesize than with 3.0.4. The documents are scanned in Acrobat Standard 7.0 without OCR, using b/w, 300 dpi, and compression set to Adaptive. The Acrobat Capture workflow steps are configured exactly the same. Here are the size results we received: Original scanned pdf size = 1520 kb OCRed using Acrobat Capture 3.0.4 = 1709 kb OCRed using Acrobat Capture 3.0.5 = 2691 kb Does anyone know what might have changed between the two versions, or what may need to be configured differently to produce a more reasonable file size? I did notice you can reduce file size using the Reduce File Size tool in Acrobat 7.0 after the OCR process, but wondered if there's a way to avoid that step, since it was not necesary before. Thanks, Sarah Roth
