Since version 2.2 of Adobe Content Server Adobe does not charge royalties on each eBook sold. Their pricing model changed. If I remember correctly they sell a standard version for 5'000 usd that allows to put a maximum of 250 books online. Then publishers can purchase further extensions to sell more. Then there is a version that goes for about 10'000 usd that has no restriction on the amounts of eBooks that can be sold. Call it an upgradable system... All this information is on the Adobe site, so before starting to throw mud, get the information. As far as the eBook format developed by Adobe it is very close to what publishers asked for. So Adobe did a god job answering the needs. I do agree however that the format needs to mutate into something maybe more flexible, but this takes time and research, and MONEY. Just think of what the internet was in '95 and consider that eBooks have been around for a couple of years now... Rufus
