I have an AT&T Tilt smart phone made by HTC that has the above Adobe reader on it V2.00.288531. I have noticed that it will not read PDF files made on newer versions of a Xerox Copier. It does open the ones made on older Xerox machines. However those with Blackberry Curves in our office can open both types of PDF files. Those I am inquiring if anyone knows of newer versions of Adobe Reader LE 2.0 that may work better and of course be compatible with the AT&T Tilt.

Suggest opening one of the Xerox files which will not open on the ppc and post it's "document properties" here. In addition, check the Xerox setup options... for example, when you run "minimize file size" in acrobat, you are given the choice for supporting older versions... ppc reader requires acrobat 5 formatting and will not open newer versions which don't contain version 5 compatibility. Would assume that the Xerox setup may have an option for supporting version 5 compatibility. Beverly Howard [MS MVP-Mobile Devices]

I have exactly the same issue ont a HTC TytnII running the same version of Acrobat LE 2. The files I need to read are from a third party and creation is beyond my control. Moreover third party wants to stick with new Acrobat version as they pretend using some of the newer functionality. Is there no way to upgrade the current version of Acrobat as he displayed message from Adobe indicates ? It leads to <http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html> but there is no button to download the LE software as far as I can see. Jan

some points; Have yet to see anyone post the document properties requested, and, without them, any help is essentially going to be just speculation. "LE" is not downloadable, at least not from Adobe. So far this forum can offer information on LE based on incomplete info since there is no one active here who uses it or has technical information about the very limited LE software. For help here, users need to take the time to download and install adobe's pocketpc reader (not LE) as that is the common denominator in this forum. Give the responders here a url of a small sample pdf file to look at... again, trying to respond from just the poster's symptoms cannot give any concrete information as to the source of the problem or possible resolution. Beverly, thanks for the reaction. I have uploaded an example pdf file that I can not open. Instead a nearly blank PDF document is displayed with the text "To view the full contents of this document, you need a later version of the PDF Viewer. You can upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html" Example PDF file is stored on <http://www.vankets.be/New_Associate_Request.pdf> Jan Van Kets

Yep... version pdf version 1.6, acrobat 7.x created by Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0 ...won't open in full 6.x or the current version of foxit.
Since, per your previous post, the generator's arrogance precludes providing backward compatibility, there are essentially no options for ppc users...
...so much for the "portable document file" concept.
If you have access to the latest "full" acrobat, you might see if you can run "reduce file size" on the document and select 5.x
