Claudio and Tom,

Thanks for the info. I have had trouble with this in the past and wondered if it was something I did wrong...still could have been, I guess.

If installing AcroRead after installing Acrobat, will AcroRead co-opt the file associations?

Is there a work around for uninstalling Acroread? Backing up all or parts of the registry and remerging them after an uninstall? Could you install it to a removable hard drive...hmmm...no that wouldn't help.

What I'm trying to do is create a CD of my book with Acroread on the CD, to run from the CD. I need to pare down the file list a bit and to do that I understand I have to have a working version of AcroRead. [sigh] It's never easy.... ;^D

Thanks
