It's me again (Jean). I used the Add/Remove programs to remove the original 5.0.5 download, restarted my computer, and installed the fresh download from the FTP site (after turning OFF my anti-virus program). Same problem occurred. I also tried to substitute another COOLTYPE.dll file in the Acrobat Reader program file, but that didn't work either. I think Tom's new suggestion might be right on target. I DIDN'T get rid of those old peripheral files from the original 5.0.5 installation, so I am going to follow his suggestion and write down the file names of those files that the Un-Install was unable to remove, and then eliminate them. Then, I'll try installing in the Safe Mode and let you guys know what happened. Again, thanks Tom. -- Jean
