Can I install Acrobat Reader under Windows XP as a service?

Is there a way to install Acrobat Reader as a service, so that it will
always be loaded and initialized when I need it?

Background: this morning I got a phone call which required me to open
a PDF file, and brought the conversation to a dead halt until I did
so. My computer went off and scrubbed its disk for at least 15
seconds before the program came up -- not its usual behavior, but this
sometimes happens, and I don't know any way to avoid it except to
install an infinite amount of RAM.

I would like Reader to be running all the time, just like my virus
checker, backup program, etc. And I would rather not put it in the
startup folder -- first, because it would then occupy space on the
task bar all the time, and second, because terminating it by accident
would be too easy.
