Preface: Mac OSX 10.5.5 Running AE CS3 Render Engine

I put together a start-up script to load the watch folder (from the example in scripting guide) in the event that the server goes down or has to reboot, I don't have to reload the watch folder...
By reload I mean click on FILE>Watch Folder..

My problem is that the watch folder feature appears to load, but actually doesn't, the search timer does not display and when a project is dropped into the folder nothing happens.... thereby rendering the time I took to set it up, pointless.

Any Suggestions?
