Hi Guys,
I have yet to dip my toes into the murky depths of After Effects scripting, but at the moment I am just listing all the footage used in a massive composition I've just done (it's kind of an offline, using low resolution versions of the footage, so I could select layers that would work, etc, ...so now i have gotten AE to ditch all footage not used in the composition and am going through by hand, writing down the source clips and in/out points). I was just wondering if there were any scripts around that could generate something like a basic EDL out of After Effects. All I am looking to do is export a list of clips (in a simple txt file) used in a selected composition, with their in/out points.
I have had a very very quick skim through the After Effects Scripting PDF and I see an example in there (under file fun) that exports a txt file listing all the compositions in a project. I'm guessing I could use that as a base for what i want to do. Anyone have any tips as to how to go about it?
cheers,
andrew
