Is there any simple way to get the active control in a panel/palette? I know I can test all the controls individually, but it seems there should be a more elegant way to do it. If not, what is the best way to traverse the control tree? I can get at the children of a container, but I can't figure out how to test whether the child of a container is a container itself.

Okay, I figured out how to traverse the control hierarchy. Controls can be differentiated from containers by checking the length of the children member array. A control's children array will have a length of zero. So will an empty container, of course, but that's fine, since I only care about containers that actually have controls in them.
