Hi! Im making the credits for my shortfilm in aftereffects. I want to have my logo in the credits. the logo is made in illustrator but when I import the logo into after effects its oval and not a perfect circle. My settings in aftereffects is: Preset: HDV 1080 25 Width: 1440 Height: 1080 Pixel Aspect ratio: HDV 1080/DVCPRO HD 720 (1,33) Ive understood this has to do with the pixel aspect ratio is different in illustrator and after effects? am I correct? but how do I correct this problem? The settings above is the same as on the filmed material (as you probably understand) thanks Per

Make sure you interpret the Illustrator document correctly in AE. Right click on the Illustrator file in the AE project window and choose Interpret Footage, then set the Pixel Aspect Ratio appropriately.

The square pixel equivalent for HD is 1920x1080, so you should design your Illustrator artwork at that size. Of course re-interpreting the source also works, but be warned, that this may trigger 17 :: 16 (ratio denominator) errors, because the AI engine doesn't really understand anything else but square pixels and you will get unbalanced antialiasing, also. You can also of course scale everything in AE to un-squeeze it. If you use continuous rasterization, you lose no quality. Mylenium
