Hi, New to the board and I hope it proves to be helpful. Here is my question: Although Absynth 3 seems to be recognized as a VST plug-in, when I try to use it in a real-time recording session, Audition simply locks up and I can't do a thing but wait for the task manager to shut down the program after several attempts of trying to click out of the program. What gives here? Absynth is linked to the appropriate directory inside Audition, and I'm using the default 44100 smp/rate...I just don't understand what's going on. Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

A quick Google indicates it's a VSTi - all of which are unsupported in Audition.

If it's a VSTi, what programs similar to Audition would Absynth be compatible with? I just like the environment of Audition, as it's very user friendly.

Well, trouble is, they're all different! From personal knowledge, Tracktion and Cubase spring to mind, but they're quite different from Audition. But if you have a bit of ingenuity, you should be able to host the VSTi in something like Synthedit or other such VST/VSTi host (still freeware?) and record its output there, while playing back existing tracks in Audition - then you can insert the prerecorded VSTi-originated track into the Audition session as if you'd recorded it there. I think most discussion along these lines has taken place on the AudioMasters site rather than here - you might care to have a search there.

Well, thanks for the information, Ozpeter. I'll also look into the AudioMasters site and see what I can come up with.
