Note - I'm not a dealer, developer, beta tester nor involved in any way, shape or form with PSP Audioware or any of its affiliates (if there are any affiliates). I'm just passing on some information about a new plug-in that might be of interest to some users on this forum. Just to let you posters know, PSP Audioware is coming out with a Mastering Compressor plug-in. I'm currently demoing it and, right out of the box, it seems to be a very nice tool and very agile, although I must qualify that by saying the demo version is very limited in user adjustments (they only let you use presets on the demo version and only one knob is allowed to be adjusted with the mouse). I've played a bit with it and Just the presets sound quite good when mastering. One of the most interesting things is that it has a toggle switch that allows the plug-in to upsample the signal to 64-bit (they call it Frequency Authentication Technique, or FAT) at the input, process it, then downsample it right before the Brick Wall Limiter (which can also be toggled on and off), then to the output. I haven't had the quiet time yet to listen critically for the differences (I'll have to wait for that unless I gag the kids). I'll play with it some more and let you know more about it. It's not free or inexpensive (they are offering it for $199 US in a special "pre-buy" offer; cheaper if you've purchased one or two other specific plug-ins by PSP). I think it can be downloaded for demo by the general public right now.
