I'm moving my Adobe Audition 1.0 Upgrade to a new Pentium 4 with Windows XP Pro. Since it is an upgrade, I must first install and activate Cool Edit 2000. The Cool Edit 2000 installation went fine, and it's running fine in 30 day demo mode. Now, time to run the ce2kreg.EXE program to activate it. Well, I have the ce2kreg.EXE program on a floppy disk, and the new computer has no floppy drive. So, I went to a different Windows XP Home computer, and copied ce2kreg.EXE from the floppy to a CD. Then, I put the CD into my new computer, but when I ran it, I got an error message which said:
Could not initialize installation. File size expected = 400744, size returned = 131072. Does anyone out there know what this is all about, and how I can activate my Cool Edit 2000 so I can go on to install my Adobe Audition 1.0 upgrade next? And, yes, I did use the Windows compatibility wizard, but that didn't help.
