Nancy, I've replied to your question on the 3.0 link here because you are asking about 1.5.

It seems that the labelling and settings may be different on different machines, but AA 1.5 doesn't have "Audition Windows Sound" because it already uses the more common WDM drivers on the soundcard so doesn't need the ability to interface these drivers to the asio expected by AA 2 and 3.

On my Vista machine here with 1.5 I have to select the Vista hardware to be faded up (on the Vista recording controls) with the appropriate source eg Windows Media Player, and also have "Speakers" faded up. Then in the AA 1.5 device settings, select something that may be labelled Realtek (or whatever) Speakers. This may mean that you have to have the sound faded up on the speakers to record anything, unlike XP, and yo may have to start things up in the right order.

The whole thing is a complete mess, and it's hard to understand how Microsoft seem to have always had such difficulty designing a simple audio interface.
