I am so confused. When you click on the audio icon there is an option called recording devices. There are mic in's, line in's, DigitalIn (Realtek Audio) and now Sterio Mix (which I set as the default.

Then when I go to the volume control under volume mixer (also when I click on the audio icon), the speakers device is the only one with any level and you can't change it to the Windows Sound, Windows Media Player, or the Explorer browser devices listed. I can mute it but it mutes all.

I don't know where to turn up the Vista hardware as you said unless we're talking about the same thing on the recording control.

I really appreciate you helping me walk through this insanity!
