Hello -- I was wondering if anyone had some advice, info, links, etc. on recording audio with Audition. I am ultimately going to burn to CD, so I am following the guides for how to setup the specs on the format of the WAV file (16-bit, 44.1khz, WAV/PCM). How should I configure the record levels? I am sending the REC OUT from my DJ mixer to the 1/8" Line-In input to my onboard sound card. The "options/Device Properties -> Wave In" is set to this onboard line-in using 'Realtek AC97 Audio". In the "supported Formats" there are only columns for "8-bit" and "16-bit". It lists the Rate's supported then lists: "24-bit (3 byte packed) supported" "32-bit (4 byte PCM) supported" "32-bit (IEEE Float) supported" And the radio button for "Get 32-bit audio using" is set to "4-byte PCM". Any feedback on the soundcard and its support? Should this be ample for getting good quality input that will ultimately get burned to a CD? If so, how should I set the levels? Right now I was figuring: ON MIXER - Set Trim on mixer to somewhere in the middle, so there is room to go up and down during record time - Master on the mixer should not effect REC OUT levels ON PC - in Audition Waveform view, "monitor record levels' or record and set Recording Level on Line-In so no clipping occurs. But how exactly should I set it? I have tried different settings...the last time I avoided clipping, but the volume seemed low. Is there some post processing I should do on the mixdown before I batch process the cue-ranges? Should I get a better soundcard? Should I use a different input? Should I look into upgrading RCA-to-1/8" cable or use one to SPDIF? Should I record louder and do some compressor processing to get maximum sound? Just looking for some help. Thanks! -bock
