Sync-ing MIDI & Wav files to out of sync tempo

Here's my problem. I've got 8 trks in WAV files of live performance in Audition. Now, while the rhythm section cooks and grooves like Rufus/AWB, the orchestra trk really got butchered by sloppy runs, even to the point that I had to toss the entire track. So, my mission, should I decide to accept it, is to record the orchestra using MIDI parts, then convert them to wav files. The hard part is sync'ing them up to the rest of the tracks. What makes THAT hard is that the tempo in Sonar was left at 120 when the original tracks were recorded. Not for any reason, that's just the default. But, seeing as the tune is NOT really that tempo, I'm wondering what would be the cleanest, most efficient means for sync-ing the MIDI and WAV file parts.

Yes, I'm aware of the DNA features, and other sync-ing features; I just want to avoid at all costs changing the tempo of the other good WAV tracks by changing the tempo setting. Now that I think about it, it might do me well to post this as well on Adobe's forum. Still, any suggestions would be great.

Tanx,
