Equalizer Anomaly

I've had this happen to me twice in recent months, but it doesn't happen often, just wondering if it's happened to anyone else.

Today I produced a commercial, and on one part of the VO I wanted a filter effect. I cut that part out of my audio region and moved it onto a new track. Everything is fine so far.

I put a filter (parametric equalizer) on the track with the music bed, to soften some of the frequencies which compete with the VO, and on ANOTHER track I put the another filter (again using parametric equalizer) which put a telephone type effect on a phrase of the VO. Everything sounds fine, a few more adjustments, and I save my session, and go for lunch.

When I return, I pull up the session again, make a few final adjustments before dubbing into our playback system, and notice that the music track sounds like it's over a telephone. After checking the EQ settings, it is displaying the curve I had put on the track for the music, not the one I put on the voice, yet when I play the spot, it definitely has the wrong EQ on the music.

I removed the EQ plug from the VO & played it back, the music sounds like it should, but if I replace the EQ plug on the VO track, the music track's EQ plug picks up the curve from the VO track again.

The help files do not mention that you can only have one instance of the effect per session, and I find it odd that it worked until I saved the session, and re-opened it later. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks
Mike
