I realize that CEP 2.1 wasn't designed for Windows Vista, but I'm still able to use it and would rather not purchase Audition if I don't have to. Here's the problem I'm running into: Let's say I want to record sound from Internet Explorer into Cool Edit. It will do it, but it also records sound from the built-in microphone on my computer. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to mute this mic. If I open up "recording devices" on my computer, the only option is microphone. If I disable that, then I can't record anything at all in CEP. With XP, I could open the Windows Recording Mixer and mute the microphone without any problem, but I can't figure out how to do that with Vista. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
