I have the same sound card that I used in the past with 1.5 but now I get a message telling me: Your sound card is not able to use this sample rate? This has never happened before. Why now? What has changed?

What's the sample rate? Have you done any Windows updates that might have 
changed your soundcard drivers? Roll them back.
