How to separate songs in a session

I have a recording of a concert, 4 tracks, saved as one session file with 4 separate .wav files.

I want to mix each song separately. What is the most efficient way to get a different session file in multitrack view for each song?

thanks,

david

I don't think that there's any particularly efficient way to do this - you have to split all of the tracks in the same places, and convert each separated clip into a unique copy (one at a time), and use these copies to create four different sessions.

Personally, I wouldn't bother with this at all - I'd just do the independent mixes for all four songs in one session, and then if I wanted independent mixdowns for each one, I'd just hightlight the area of a single number, and go Edit>Mixdown to new file>Master Output For Selected Range, and have done with it.

I wouldn't claim that there's any particular merit in either approach, but both of them are better than trying to split the files first in EV, I can assure you!

Save the original four times under different names, then delete the parts unrequired in each using edit > insert/delete time.
