Here is the issue:

When recording 12-16 tracks at once, 1.5 will freeze randomly. I have had many efficient sessions but I cannot put my finger on the issue yet because I can't find a pattern. Lately, not to loose sessions (keepers), I save everything, and log off. reboot, and go to the next song that I (or client) wants to record to prevent freeze ups. The Temp folder and session files are on an efficient external OWC 7200 rpm hard drive, and the 1.5 Audition app is running on the C drive.

Here is the set up:
RME Multiface II, Tango 24 set as internal (ADAT lite pipe to MF II)
Thus, 16 tracks armed.

Windows XP SP2, P4, 3.4 gh, 2 gigs ram.

AU 1.5 SETTINGS: Total Buffers = Total Buffer size 4 seconds using 30 buffers.
EV preview buffers = 250 ms
Cache Size = 8192 k bytes
Temp Folder = 1944 mb

Charlie, are you connected to the internet on this machine? Sometimes random freezeups can be connected to a program that logs onto the internet looking for updates. Are you running virus scan on this machine?
