When I hit record, the time display counts up, as if I'm recording, but the scroll bar stays put, no waveform is recorded, and there are no levels. Multitrack recording works fine, so it must be a setting in edit view. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Have you set up the device options for edit view as well as for multitrack view?
