CMYK Emulation Using Multiple Pantone Colors.

I have a CMYK image that I need to convert into 10-13 Pantone Colors.

I am silk screen printing on fabric and it is not possible to print CMYK. Therefore I have to emulate the CMYK print using Pantone Colors, 13 being my maximum. I am able to use halftones.

Does anyone know how to do that? I assume Photoshop would be the #1 tool to execute this but I do not have the knowledge to accomplish the operation.

I'd use Photoshop for channel manipulations. However, 10-13 Pantone colors sounds like alot. Screen print inks are not necessarily formulated for Pantone's matching system, but come in their own set of spot colors depending on ink manufacturer. You can get Plastisol Process Color inks. You can play around with double strikes, special Whites, etc., but 10 - 13 is going to be a challenge. You could try Illustrator's vector conversions, but I think the best route is raster artwork ( Photoshop bitmap ).

This plug-in sounds perfect for what I'm looking to do!

And it is directly targeted to the "schmata" buisness too.

Thanks Unit.Seven, I'll give the Trial a try!

If you're googling, try spelling separation correctly. ;)
